One Bowl Productions was founded in 2014 as a purpose-driven production company. Through visual media, we give a platform and voice to great stories and truths. One Bowl takes pride in presenting diverse narratives that are entertaining, revealing, and socially and culturally relevant. The genuine voice and integrity of each story remains central to our mission. The films we produce are created through trusted relationships and access that transport audiences to new conversations and awareness—making the invisible visible. By choosing unique and untold stories and experiences, One Bowl’s films catalyze inspired action and social change.

Oren Lyons
Principal

Oren Lyons is a founding member and principal partner in One Bowl Productions. He is a Faithkeeper of the Turtle Clan and serves as a member Chief of the Onondaga Council of Chiefs and the Grand Council of the Iroquois Confederacy, the Haudenosaunee Peoples.

Oren holds the title of Professor Emeritus at SUNY Buffalo, has a Doctor of Law Degree from his Alma Mater, Syracuse University and Lyons Hall at SU is named in his honor. Chief Lyons is an All-American Lacrosse Hall of Famer and Honorary Chairman of the Iroquois Nationals Lacrosse Team. He is an accomplished artist, environmentalist, and author.

Oren is a leading voice at the UN Permanent Forum on Human Rights for Indigenous Peoples, serves on the Executive Committee of Spiritual and Parliamentary Leaders for Human Survival, acts as Chairman of the Board for both the Harvard Project on American Indian Economic Development and Plantagon, a world leader in Green House Innovation.

Recipient of several prestigious awards including; The United Nations NGO World Peace Prize, the Ellis Island Congressional Medal of Honor, The Rosa Parks and George Arent Award for environmental and social activism and recently receiving Sweden’s prestigious Friends of the Children Award with his colleague the late Nelson Mandela.

Gayle Anne Kelley
CEO, Executive Producer

Gayle Anne Kelley is a founding member and CEO of One Bowl Productions.

Gayle began her career as a documentary filmmaker and worked within the music industry for over 15 years. She is a creator and Executive Producer of the Mini Series, The Iroquois: Exiled in the Land of the Free, which is currently in development and Executive Producer of the Docu-feature, Spirit Game: Pride of a Nation, which was released May 2017.

Gayle brings years of experience as a consultant to the entertainment industry, universities, businesses and government agencies to One Bowl Productions. Her expertise includes strategic planning, fundraising, marketing and branding, and story development. Gayle has built and maintains a strong network of relationships across the entertainment industry.

As a trusted liaison, Gayle has worked with Heads of State, the United Nations and the World’s Indigenous Peoples. She is the founder of A Circle of Women, a global organization that educates and inspires women and girls to be leaders and peacemakers. A contributing author, an entrepreneur and human right activist, Gayle Anne has lectured worldwide and is committed to creating stories that have a social conscience and inspire change.

Peter Spirer
Director, Managing Partner

Peter Spirer is Managing Partner of One Bowl Productions and President of Rugged Entertainment. Peter is an Academy Award and Emmy Award Nominated director and producer whose films have twice been official selections at the Sundance Film Festival. He is a long-standing member of the Directors Guild of America.

Peter recently produced and directed the feature film Just Another Day starring Wood Harris and Jamie Hector (both from HBO’s “The Wire”), which was distributed by Image Entertainment and premiered on BET and is currently playing on Encore/Showtime.

His vast catalogue of documentaries include the groundbreaking music doc Rhyme and Reason (Miramax Films), as well as the BEEF series of films (I-III), Thug Angel (on slain rapper Tupac Shakur), Notorious B.I.G.: Bigger Than Life, and many more. His films have received wide critical acclaim, and play regularly on HBO, Showtime, MTV, VH-1, IFC, BET, Starz, Fuse and The Sundance Channel.

Spirer recently wrapped principal photography on Feel Rich, a film about the health crisis in urban communities across America, featuring many of yesterday and today’s music stars, as well as, legendary music producer Quincy Jones, and is in post-production on Wheels of Fortune, a documentary highlighting the ADA lawsuit abuses primarily in California.

Janice Doskey
Senior Producer, Development Exec

A highly skilled Development Executive and Producer, Janice is a twenty year veteran of the entertainment industry.

She has produced for directors such as Wes Anderson, Jim Sheridan, Nick Cassavetes, Kevin Smith, John Waters, Eric Brevig and the late Ted Demme. She produced Jennifer Aniston’s directorial short film debut, Room Ten, starring Robin Wright, as well as Talia Legacy’s Little Black Dress, starring Rosario Dawson. She also co-produced A Circle of Women, a feature length documentary about the role of Native American clan mothers as peacemakers and medicine women.

As a Supervising Producer for Blue Man Productions, Janice developed, budgeted and produced projects for the big and small screens, including 3D digital shorts for Nintendo, movie concept trailers and STEM educational videos for Scholastic. She developed an episodic TV show called “Through The Tubes”, featuring the Blue Men and a roster of special guests.

As Senior Vice President for Film and Television Development at Blue Man Group, Janice was responsible for the development of new creative content for film, television and digital mediums. Janice was instrumental in developing brand defining content such as MindBlast: The Brain, an IMAX 3D film and Emotibotz, a new franchise for the company, featuring six new characters integrated across all media platforms featuring live theatrical productions, a feature film, live music, social media and digital content and a companion comic book series.

Establishing and maintaining strong industry relationships with outside producers, digital content and visual effects companies, marketing companies and talent agencies, Janice negotiated contracts with major entertainment companies worldwide, including Weta/New Zealand, ITV, Amber Entertainment, ICM, Discovery Science, Flicker Lab and Show Creators International.

Leveraging the natural intersection of Blue Man Group, science and technology, Janice initiated a development deal with Discovery Science to create a television series exploring science through the unique perspective of the Blue Man character.

She is currently at work on a feature length animation project in conjunction with her company, Rule of Three Partners, a New York entertainment development partnership.

Janice is a member of the DGA, SAG/AFTRA and Women in Film. She is an avid supporter of the New York theater scene.

Brooke Hopkins
SENIOR Producer

Brooke Hopkins is an independent producer and indigenous rights activist.

She has had the honor to produce for award winning independent film directors such as Chusy Haney-Jardine (Anywhere USA) and Peter Gilbert (Hoop Dreams). Brooke is a two time Sports Emmy Award nominated producer for Outstanding Documentary and Music Composition. Her work at the heart of the environmental and indigenous rights movements is supported by the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation.

As Senior Producer for One Bowl Productions, Brooke is currently extending her expertise and passion for film, sports, and culture as campaign director for Spirit Game: Pride of a Nation. The campaign takes an intergenerational look at diverse subject matter such as equity and racism, sovereignty, and the Doctrine of Discovery, while working with youth ambassadors to grow the game of lacrosse.

Brooke’s additional projects include an eclectic slate of feature films, documentaries, original tv programming, digital media, and live events.
